Ian has over 35 years experience in the construction industry serving clients in the mining, mineral processing, and civil infrastructure and building industries.

Ian was business manager and general manager of major contracting organisations for 24 years and a director of the same organisations for 12 years.

Ian was active in Industry Associations including serving as President of the Queensland Major Contractors Association where he played a major role in the development of industry wide training for the construction industry.

Since 2003 Ian has acted as a consultant to the Mining, Civil Infrastructure and Building sectors.

Ian specialises in:

  • Development or review of project execution plans for projects;
  • Independent peer reviews of capital cost estimates, construction methodology, time schedules, risk management, contract packaging strategies;
  • Preparation or review of complex contracts including EPCM Contracts, mining contracts, and maintenance contracts as well as the full suite of construction contracts;
  • Managing capital cost estimates for all phases of projects;
  • Provision of strategic advice for the delivery and or winning of projects;
  • Mentoring to executives and engineers.

Ian also provides "trouble shooting" support and assistance with relationship management during projects and is available for dispute resolution services (all manners of ADR) to help finalise projects.
