The Challenge:
- In consortium, take over the delivery of PCM services for the project including construction management and project controls, in Port Pirie and in the remote module construction site in Haimen, China.
- Construction works were underway simultaneously with engineering and procurement. In this dynamic situation, the necessary project management systems were required to be developed and implemented whilst ensuring the active works were brought under control to safe and efficient delivery.
- The worksite challenges were significant, with airborne particulates, old facilities non-compliant with current safety standards, and smelter operations with molten metal ongoing.
The Outcome:
In the shortest conceivable timeframe, the site construction was brought to a controlled, safe and efficient operating regimen, and the project’s cost and schedule were established to reveal the true project status for the benefit of the investors.
