Berth 2

  • Replacement of 3 remaining fenders
  • Replace capstan winches
  • Replace walkway
  • Access improvements on ship loader
  • Replace berth amenities building

Berth 1

  • Replacement of 6 fenders
  • Replacement of capstan winches
  • Ship loader modifications

Project Details

Client: BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance

The Challenge:

  • Both projects conducted as shutdowns with fixed operational restart time
  • Available window fixed to meet export commitments
  • Berth 2 shutdown required co-ordination of multiple contractors

The Outcome:

Engaged with site project delivery group to develop the schedule

N

Reviewed contractor schedules and worked with the contractors to establish resourced schedules to allow earned value monitoring through the shutdown

N

Assessed status daily and produced daily reports based on earned value

N

Provided daily report inputs for the BMA Project Manager’s report

N

Identified schedule risks in the contractor progress and proactively worked with the contractor and BMA with recommendations to ensure berth was operational by the required milestone

N

For both shutdowns the facilities were available by the nominated time
