New malting plant for Barrett Burston Malting (subsidiary of GrainCorp). First plant to be built in Queensland in 40 years.

- Malt cleaning, handling and storage
- Malt truck loading
- Refrigeration Plant
- Weighbridges
- Site drainage, road works

The Challenge:
- Built Environs (BEPL) undertook the project as a lump sum turn-key (LSTK) contract
- BEPL had limited experience in LSTK process
- Design spread across 4 states and 5 primary designers plus an international technology provider
- Brownfield site on an existing GrainCorp facility
The Outcome:
Called in to manage design completion
- Routinely monitored design progress and targeted key packages
- Implemented interface management across the multiple design organisations
- Formalised cross function design review
- Conducted design review and issues meetings with BBM representative
Supported BEPL with mentoring and assistance to the Project Manager
Enhanced document control procedures
Co-ordinated the site project engineering team
